LOGAN M.
The staff were nice, but the stay fell short of the generally good, consistent experiences I’ve had at Hampton Inn's. I usually choose Hilton properties. My room wasn’t as clean as I expect, the thermostat didn’t work, and the shower head sputtered. There was no coffee at breakfast the next morning. The whole place seems like it needs renovation.

The staff were very friendly, and check-in and checkout were quick and easy. Breakfast was better than I expected, and the highway noise was there but not too distracting. They’re upgrading the Wi-Fi, though I think room upkeep should be the focus. The shower soap holder was coming out of the wall, as was the wall-mounted coat rack. The water was a little warmer than lukewarm, but don’t expect it to be piping hot.

My room key stopped working every single day, so I had to climb several flights of stairs and go back to the front desk each time to get it reactivated. That was frustrating and inconvenient. After checkout, I found a $50 charge on my bank statement for supposed makeup stains on the sheets. I don’t wear makeup, and I brought my own pillowcase and sheets so my body wouldn’t touch the hotel linens. No one told me about the charge before it was processed. Customer service said to contact the hotel, which claimed it had tried to reach me, but I got no call, voicemail, or email. I asked for photos or other documentation of the alleged damage and received nothing. Charging me without notice or proof, along with the recurring key problems, made for a very disappointing stay.

The pool needs work too. The ceiling tiles were stained, and bugs filled the light fixtures. Breakfast was horrendous. My work associate and I both felt sick afterward. I wouldn’t feed the available food to my dogs, even though I don’t expect much from a continental breakfast. I’ve stayed at many Hilton locations over the years and at three different ones with a work associate last month. This was by far the worst. I contacted the hotel before writing this and never heard back. In the room, the shower head was moldy and clogged, spraying water everywhere. The furniture was badly damaged, the work on a recent upgrade was poorly done, tiles were coming off the baseboard, and the carpet was stained and dirty. For what I paid, I expected better than the Motel 6 next door. This felt like staying there. Hampton Inn should drop its Hilton branding because this place doesn’t represent the brand. Skip it.

For a one-night stop while passing through, this was fine, though pricey for what it is. The staff were great, and we were checked in late in under a minute with physical keys already in hand. Just know mobile or digital keys aren’t supported here yet, which was mildly annoying since I’m used to entering with my phone. The room was smaller than a standard Hampton layout but fine for a quick visit. The fridge was a good size, though there’s no microwave, so cold leftovers are about all you can do. Cleanliness was average, not pristine but not gross. Breakfast was the usual Hampton spread, powdered eggs and toast-level enthusiasm, so keep expectations modest. The deodorizer was aggressive enough to clear sinuses across three states. There was some random peppermint oil smell that partly covered it, maybe a cleaner had a headache, but once that faded, the deodorizer was back. Wi-Fi worked for casual browsing but was too unreliable for remote work. I couldn’t spend a full work week here without risking deadlines. The lukewarm shower complaint is real. I let the water run for 45 minutes trying to get heat, with no luck. My coworker on the second floor had hot water, so maybe it’s just a third-floor issue. As someone who practically lives in hotels for work, I wanted to clear up some of the mixed reviews: fine for a night on the road, with great staff, but if you need to work or stay longer, maybe find a Hilton with mobile keys and hotter water.
