DoubleTree by Hilton Boston - Rockland

We were in town for a wedding, with check-in listed at 3, and the ceremony at 2:30. I called and emailed ahead to ask about an earlier arrival, but the hotel couldn’t accommodate us. After the ceremony and celebrations, we arrived at 12:30 with nobody on staff. The Hilton app said our reservation was canceled, even though someone had told me on the phone earlier that everything was set. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I wouldn’t book a wedding group or guests attending an important event here. Thanks, Hilton.

There was plenty of room, the TV was good, and the shower was nice. I liked that it was separate from the sink, so the mirror didn’t steam up. The desk needs an outlet extender to handle all the things you might plug in there. The bedside table had plenty of electrical and data outlets.

I was traveling for work and arrived well after check-in time, but one front desk employee said our rooms weren’t ready. Once shifts changed, the next man finally got us into them. Another traveler in the lobby said that’s how things always go here. The website says breakfast is free, but it wasn’t offered. The rooms are old and dated, though I’ve seen worse, and there’s no mini fridge or microwave. The experience left a lot to be desired, and I wouldn’t return.

We’ve come here for Christmas for the past five years and have been very pleased. The rooms and hallways seemed updated, our room was clean and spacious, and the staff and service were more than attentive. Our three-day stay was very comfortable.
