Hunt's Castle

Walking down the dock in the morning was wonderful, and our evening stroll there was even better. We could see jellyfish and even spotted beautiful dolphins. The kids loved the pool, and the clean, convenient little kitchen and space for the whole family made the stay great.

If all you need is a place to sleep by the water, this works. The staff are friendly, the AC is cold, and the beds are comfortable. There's a microwave, coffee maker, TV with Live TV channels, big windows, key cards, and a vending machine. No elevator, but there are two accessible outdoor staircases. The pool is nice, and outside there's a huge patio, a long lit pier, BBQ pits, Tiki-like cabanas, and chairs. It's not the Hilton or Hyatt.

We changed rooms because the first one had no hot water, but in the new room there was still only enough for a quick rinse. The place is old and outdated and needs a good remodel. I guess you get what you pay for.

I was a little worried after reading reviews before our first Rockport trip, but check-in was quick and easy, and the office staff were friendly. Since we were new to the city, it was handy that they sold bait right there. Our roomy room had clean sheets and towels, comfortable beds, a ceiling fan, lots of TV channels, and we could cook there. It was quiet at night, and we liked the convenient BBQ area, the pretty lit pier, the pool and hot tub, and the little game room in the lobby. The balcony had lovely views in the morning, and I felt safe with my family. I didn't like that the elevators were broken, and as a housekeeper myself, I noticed sand in the shower. Otherwise the toilet was clean and had a tape seal showing it was clean and unused. It really was a wonderful stay. I'd come back and recommend it to friends and family.
