Lighthouse Inn At Aransas Bay

We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, and The Lighthouse Inn made it a wonderful, memorable stay. The Victorian boutique charm shows throughout the hotel, and the workers were all smiling, happy, and kind. Kaycee was especially lovely and accommodating when we asked to upgrade to a bayside view. The chocolate covered strawberries were a perfect treat for the balcony, where we looked out over the water. Breakfast was excellent, and it was the best hotel coffee we’ve ever had. 10/10, we’ll stay here again. It’s perfect for a romantic couples getaway.

The first night was cozy and very pleasant, with a great seaside view. The next night, though, the hotel hosted a wedding that got out of control. There were drunk people in the lobby, loud profanity, and the guests next to us were fighting. It was unacceptable. I tried calling the front desk, but the phone didn’t work, so I had to walk down twice to complain. We couldn’t fall asleep until well after 1am. When I explained the awful experience at checkout the next day, there was no apology or credit. They just took the money and smiled. We’ll never go back. We’ve had better stays at a motel 6.

The way the front desk handled our check-in left a very negative impression, and I don’t think I’d stay here again. If you’re Hispanic, I wouldn’t recommend this property based on what happened to us. The two women on the desk around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, treated us very poorly. They gave unclear instructions and repeatedly brushed off our questions with “It’s policy,” even though the website seemed to say something different. When we got frustrated because they couldn’t or wouldn’t help us complete check-in, they laughed at us instead of trying to sort out the problem. Guests asking for clarification should be treated with respect and helped.

The kids get so excited about catching fish off the private pier, and they love visiting the lighthouse. The pool is always a hit, especially since the hotel has pool toys for everyone and towels if you forgot your own. It’s a great environment with friendly staff. We also love eating at the hotel with a nice view of the water, and the cheesecake is the most delicious ever, lmao!
