Extended Stay America - Washington D.C. - Rockvill

Our stay was awful. You can't just relax here: they won't clean your room unless you pay, and when the trash fills up, you have to carry it to the dumpsters yourself. For fresh towels or blankets, bring the used ones to the front desk, then wait over an hour for replacements, which you have to bring back to your room. Toilet paper, trash bags, and anything else also have to be fetched from the desk.

The building is being RENOVATED, with workers moving furniture around rooms and repairing elevators. Guests should be told about the work, and staff need to keep track of which rooms are occupied between shifts. Someone tried to enter our room without knocking or announcing themselves, saying they needed to check “THE BATHROOM,” and didn't apologize. We had NO TRASH CANS, and furniture was left completely exposed in the parking lot. In the morning, there wasn't an acceptable amount of regular sugar with the coffee. I won't return. I hope the renovation goes well and communication among staff improves.

The rooms were comfortable and the location convenient, but it was their genuine hospitality that stood out. I'll be back and would recommend the place to friends and colleagues.
