Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rocky Mount Smith Mountain Lake

Our family of four spent a whole week here, and it really felt like home. We only checked out yesterday and are already planning a return. With two babies, we felt like family, and every shift of staff was kind and friendly, especially Sheryl and Taylor. Housekeeping were lovely too and did a great job. We appreciated how hard they worked. Breakfast was egg-cellent, with omelets when available, different kinds of sausage, cinnamon rolls, and coffee that was better than the usual fair trade, and we know our coffee! Thanks to everyone for making the stay so easy.

Tyler made our stay feel welcoming and comfortable. He went out of his way to extend it, and was helpful and kind throughout. The hotel was very clean, and the staff clearly take pride in keeping it that way. His hospitality made the place feel homey, turning a nice hotel into somewhere we genuinely enjoyed being. I had a wonderful stay, and really appreciated Tyler’s outstanding service.

We’ve been here a few times. The rooms and building were clean and had all the usual amenities. Breakfast was better than at similar hotels in the region, and we’ve recommended this place to others without hearing any complaints.

After driving for 8 hours, we found out the indoor pool and hot tub were out of service. We chose this hotel and paid more than we could have elsewhere mainly because the hot tub helps with a medical condition. Apparently both facilities had been closed for weeks, but there was nothing on the website or at the desk to tell us. We would have booked a much cheaper room somewhere else if we'd known. Guests should be told when a main feature isn't working so they can make an informed choice.
