Super 8 by Wyndham Battleboro/Rocky Mount

I booked online about an hour before reaching the motel, but it was closed when I arrived. I tried calling and got an answering machine that wouldn't let me leave a message. Some people in the parking lot said the manager had left and would be back around lunchtime the next day. I couldn't cancel online because the 24-hour notice window had passed, so I had to pay another motel for the night.

I arrived at 8 pm after booking a room, but everything was closed. No one answered my calls or knocks at the door. I waited an hour with no one showing up, so I couldn't check in and went to another hotel. The worst check-in experience ever.

I never even got inside. I was in town from out of state for a funeral and needed a place for one night. I booked through bookings.com while sitting in the parking lot, but should've known better from how the dump looked. It looked nothing like the pictures. I tried three different doors and all were locked. You could see construction at one entrance. I called the facility three times with no answer. Only after I requested a refund did I reach someone, who said they wouldn't refund me. I'd give it minus five stars if I could. Calling this a two-star hotel is too generous.

We booked for January 2, 2026, but arrived to find the place unattended, even though the listing says it’s staffed 24 hours. The manager was in the hospital, which I understand, but I was left to sort out the reservation refund and he never did it. Thank goodness we stayed, because the place looked awful, like people were living there, and there was garbage everywhere. IT'S A SCAM.
