Tru by Hilton Rocky Mount

I liked the minimalist room setup, and the ice situation worked well. The location and property were nice and very clean, and I liked that guests actually hung out downstairs. One staff member was really friendly and helpful, but everyone else just looked at you without saying anything. During breakfast they watched and stared at guests. When the coffee ran out, they acted like we were putting them out by mentioning it. I get it if you don’t feel like working, but that’s not my fault. I didn’t eat after seeing a lady use the same rag on the tables and counters, then on the buffet utensils, and wipe the inside of the egg pan with it, too. A bar was the only thing missing.

Our third-floor room was roomy, spotlessly clean, and quiet apart from a little noise around 10pm that sounded like someone struggling to open a door, and a large dog barking later. It had a comfortable king bed with two pillows each, a small desk, large TV, and mini fridge. The bathroom was spacious, with a nice walk-in shower. The hotel feels comfortable and IKEA-like inside, which I like, with a big inviting lobby, comfortable seating, a TV, pool table, snacks, and nice music. It looks clean and modern outside, too. We booked one night while traveling. The gentleman who checked us in wasn’t customer-friendly and never smiled.

I loved the room toiletries, especially the body wash and lotion, which smelled so good I went online to buy some for home. The complimentary breakfast was very good each morning, though I’d like more breakfast meat options and maybe waffles someday. We stayed three days at the Tru by Hilton in Rocky Mount, NC, and had a wonderful visit. The hotel was very clean and convenient, and everything was accessible. The staff were friendly, supportive, and always ready to answer our questions, which made us feel welcome. I’d definitely return and highly recommend it.

Joshua was fantastic, and the bed was comfortable. The coffee was great, and being available 24 hours was a win. There were good drink and snack choices at the front, the location worked well for restaurants, and the pool table was a fun extra. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap smelled awesome. It was clean and customer service was great. There was just a tiny bit of a smell like car urine when you first walk in, otherwise everything was fantastic.
