Best Western Coachlight

The room was bigger than I'd imagined when I booked, clean, and good for the price. The location worked well too, just off I-44 and within walking distance of Waffle House and a steak house. We were five people, two adults and three kids, traveling from Texas to Ohio. The beds were the letdown. The mattresses are outdated and need replacing. They were very hard, and the springs squeaked with every move. I'd stay again, but hope the beds are newer by then.

I checked into a room, then canceled the reservation and went to another hotel. The first room had a lot of black mold on the ceiling, so I asked to switch. The second room still had some mold. Both ceilings were in poor shape, cracked and chipping, and the room overall wasn't great. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend staying here 😕

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the outdated property isn't their fault. That's the only reason this place averages above three stars. The back parking lot is so cramped it feels like something from a crowded beach town. I've usually had good experiences at other Best Western locations, but I wouldn't stay at this one again.

The one good thing is that they canceled my reservation without any trouble. They say they're pet friendly, but the rooms they offered were in awful shape. The bathroom ceiling looked ready to fall down, the floors were damaged, and the walls were coming apart. It also looked like someone had begun painting and then stopped. The hotel seemed mostly empty, and I can see why.
