The key cards were the one frustrating part: I had three made, and only one worked. Still, I was happy with my stay. We picked the hotel because it was close to Berry and Broad Street for Berry Half-marathon weekend. The rooms and floors look dated, but things were pretty clean. I'm easy to please, and I'll see you next year.
We needed somewhere to stay fast after a terrible experience at Woodbridge. Booking and paying online through Priceline took just a few minutes, and Days Inn turned the night around. The place was clean and comfortable, just what we needed after a very long day. We finally got a good night's sleep, and I appreciated how easy the whole process was.
Christa was especially kind, and the staff took care of anything we asked about. They also made sure we got the floor we had requested, even though the parking lot was full when we arrived Saturday night. We stayed three nights, Saturday through Tuesday, and for the price this was the best choice for our family. It's an older place, and anyone after fancy extras may want to look elsewhere, but it worked great for us. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and breakfast had lots of options. The medium brew coffee was fine, though I saw complaints about it, and the decaf wasn't good. Thanks, Days Inn Rome Ga! Give it a try, you might like it.
I got in early Friday morning, before the 2 o'clock check-in, and they found a room and let me in. The room was comfortable, if not luxurious, and a great value for the price. Breakfast was included and tasty, though the choices were limited: eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, and waffles.
On Friday the 30th, I came back in after going out for a smoke and saw a young couple, maybe 18 or 19, at the front desk. The woman checking them in didn't ask for ID. She said they were her friends and that she always hooked them up with a room. I've seen this twice during my stays, and I thought guests had to be old enough to rent a room. If rooms are being given away or discounted on her shift, the hotel could be losing money. Checking in people under 21 doesn't seem acceptable to me. This was my third stay at Days Inn for out-of-town business. I usually arrive at night, and I believe the young woman at the desk said her name was Stephanie. She doesn't greet or welcome me, just takes my name and hands over a room card. During that same Friday check-in, a small brown-haired child ran up and down the hall and tried to push open the front entrance. He kicked my shin. I told him that wasn't nice and asked where his mother was; he pointed behind the front counter. She didn't apologize or say anything about what he'd done, only told him to get behind the counter with me. A couple of hours later, I went down for snacks and she hurried me because the snack bar was closing for the night.
