Best Western Garden Villa Inn

I left and found somewhere else to stay because I didn’t want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere, but I still had to pay for the room. At check-in, I was handed a pet waiver saying I’d be kicked out immediately if my dog barked once. That hadn’t been disclosed before I paid. The man at the motel refused a refund and even told Expedia there was no such paper, apparently to avoid giving one. I don’t recommend this place.

We had to move to another motel for the night and received no refund. The room had ants, and management’s response was to spray insecticide on surfaces, leaving the air, desk, and television cabinet in what felt like a toxic state. They refused to relocate us, even though most rooms were unoccupied. Management also said a bad review would be a threat. The customer service, especially toward seniors, was very poor. Staying here felt like a health risk and showed total disrespect for seniors.

There were sugar ants in our room, so we told the manager and asked to move. Maintenance sprayed Raid ant and roach killer over the desk and around the refrigerator and TV instead. The room felt toxic afterward, and when we asked again for another room, the manager refused. She gave us two options: stay in the sprayed room or leave without a refund for the night. The Best Western Garden Villa in Roseburg OR was not full, but they still wouldn’t move us. We forfeited the prepaid cost for that night and had to leave. If zero stars were possible, that’s what we’d give.

I couldn’t sleep all night because of a strong smell. The first room smelled disgusting, and the second one they moved me to was also smelly and uncomfortable. When I arrived to check in, a dog suddenly ran toward me in the lobby, which was scary. Having an unleashed dog around guests felt unprofessional. The rooms were dirty, the odor was bad, and I didn’t feel guests were safe. Completely unacceptable. I won’t stay here again and don’t recommend it.
