Super 8 Marion

I've stayed here twice for work because the location suits me. I asked for the same room as the first time and they had no problem giving it to me. Booking.com showed the hotel as sold out, but when I called, they remembered me from the week before and had actually held the room. I can't speak to the other rooms, but mine was clean both stays. My only complaints are the lack of an in-room coffee pot and hot water that isn't hot enough for my taste. I like HOT showers. I'd read about drug parties and loud weekends, but I haven't heard any parties or loud noise. Nobody hangs around in the lot, and there was only one truck in the truck parking on either visit. There's security camera coverage across the property, and the cameras work. I'd recommend staying here.

The Super eight in Marion was clean and orderly, and everything in the room was clean and in good shape. Staff were friendly while staying professional. The location worked well for what I needed, and the price and service were both excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone passing through who needs a night.

We won't stay here again. The room hadn't been dusted, and there were cobwebs, dirt, and stray hairs on the floors and around the room. Someone had written numbers on the wall, a Heath candy bar was left beside the fridge, and I had to look under the bed to find the TV remote. There were stink bugs in the room too. I have more pictures if needed. We had confirmed a 1 p.m. checkout as Wyndham gold rewards members when we checked in. Housekeeping knocked at about 10 a.m.; we told her about the late checkout and went back to lie down. She came back at 11 and woke my husband, who repeated that we had late checkout. We were annoyed by then, but weren't rude or raising our voices. About 20 minutes later, a manager, I think her name was "Karen," came pounding on the door like SWAT, with a lot of attitude. We explained again. Doesn't anyone check the system? She told us to calm down and left, but never came back to apologize. And before telling me to educate myself on hotel policy, Jesus Loves You!

It's modest, but well organized, clean, reasonably priced, and well managed. This is a great hotel, and I'll stay here again.
