Quality Inn Central Roseburg

I was here for work for a while, and the room did the job. I swept behind the nightstands and found some junk, but nothing excessive. There's a small fridge without a freezer, which would've been useful, though kitchenette rooms are available and I was fine without one. The coin-operated washer and dryers cost $1 a load. I had to put a couple more dollars into the dryer to get things properly dry. The pool was clean, and they run a pool robot every morning. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful with what I needed. It's right off the freeway and fairly close to Fred Meyer and Safeway. The accommodations should work fine for people passing through.

For a cheap room, it was pretty much what I expected, except for two things. The room smelled awful, like feet and bad cheese. Maybe it was carpet deodorizer, maybe the funk of past guests. Also, the big trash bin at the bottom of the stairs was overflowing in the heat, with flies and the stink of garbage. Just crummy and unacceptable.

The room was okay, and the breakfast was great, but then we noticed a $50 charge on our credit card bill. The clerk said it was for a stain on a sheet. We did not stain any sheet. The manager was supposed to call us, but after two more calls trying to reach them, we've heard nothing. It's been over a week.

The breakfast was more than a basic continental spread, with eggs, sausage, muffins, waffles, biscuits and gravy, and more. The pool was clean, though many of the chairs around it were dirty and broken. I was pleasantly surprised overall, but took off a star because there was other people's hair in the sink and tub. The younger woman who checked us in was also unhelpful, answering “I don't know” without trying to find out.
