Super 8 by Wyndham Roseburg

We found this a handy, clean place for a quick stay with our dog. The room was simple but had what we needed, and check-in was easy and friendly. It’s close to food, the highway and a gas station, plus the EV charger was a big perk for us. We skipped the pool and hot tub because they didn’t look or smell very clean. Breakfast didn’t seem like anything special, though we didn’t try it. If you want an affordable, dog-friendly stop in Roseburg with an EV charger, this does the job.

There was plenty of room in the large parking lot for the trailer we were towing, and the property looked well cared for. Staff were polite and professional, and the stay was a good value. The beds were comfortable, with soft, clean sheets. Our room was very clean and had some updated features, though the furniture was worn. Breakfast was just grab-and-go snacks, which didn’t bother me. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice and maintained when we walked by.

The desk clerks were especially great, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. My issue was the cleaning staff knocking whenever they wanted, even though I’d put up a do not disturb sign. They were friendly, but need to be more considerate and communicate with each other about guests’ needs. Everyone else was great.

The coupon on the key card was for “buy one entrée get one 50% off” at the Rodeo Steak House & Grill. Don’t use it. The place is overpriced for the food, and the manager applies the discount to the next-cheapest entrée. It feels like a rip off. Our room had the basics, good lighting and was clean. Staff were easy to talk to, and the bed was comfortable. The pool was warm, but so was the hot tub, since the owner lowered its temperature to be safe with guests letting their kids in. The bigger problem was sleeping: it was cold outside, in the high forties, but our room was hot without us turning on the heat. Around 2 am we were all awake. The AC was noisy, so after my son complained we shut it off and opened the window and blinds. That let in light pollution, too. Next time I’ll pre-chill the room before bed.
