Best Western At O'Hare

I was told my reservation had been canceled because of renovations just a week before I was due to arrive for an event. I understand the work may be needed, but getting that little notice and no help finding another place to stay was unacceptable. The renovation should have been known across the hotel staff. This felt careless and disrespectful to customers, and I’m disappointed. With more than a week’s warning, the cancellation would have been much less of an issue.

The hotel is shut down, with the doors locked, and no one picks up when you call. I got no warning by email or phone. Best Western corporate needs to step in right away. This is bound to become a class action lawsuit.

Man, you may end up here if there’s nowhere else to stay on your way to Chicago. I found a clump of hair under the blanket, and I’m only about 50 percent sure there were bed bugs. It got me through the night, so whatever.

I booked online because I had an emergency. When I arrived, the place was dirty and smelled of mold. The clerk said I was too early to check in, since check-in was at 3 p.m., then said I’d need to pay another $50 to reserve the room. I gave him my card, but I never fully checked in and spent the night at the hospital. The next day I booked somewhere cleaner and cheaper, with very good customer service. Best Western refused to refund me. I feel like they took my money, and I don’t recommend this nasty hotel at all. It’s the worst Best Western I’ve ever walked into. Comfort Suite was so much better.
