Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Roseville/Detroit Area

Before booking, read actual verified reviews on sites like hotels and Expedia. I was in town for an extended stay, and most of the positive Google reviews here seem false. The rooms are filthy, not just missing a few details, and housekeeping isn’t up to par. The pool is disgusting, towels and bedding are stained or ripped, and you have to request room cleaning each day. There’s a good chance you’ll end up doing it yourself. There are roaches throughout and bedbugs in some rooms. Breakfast is laughable, with stale items that seem well past their best-by date. The back door doesn’t lock at all, and people, including non-guests, are always hanging around back there. They also operate as a shelter, but without any regulation. With all the other options nearby, don’t stay here. It’s so far below Wyndham standards that I don’t know how Wyndham still lets them use its name.

The location is convenient, near restaurants, stores, and a gas station. The housekeepers were helpful even though none of them understood or spoke English. They got me clean rugs, a broom, and a mop so I could clean the room myself. The cleanliness needs serious improvement. My room had roaches and wasn’t as clean as it could’ve been. I took pictures of the mess and bugs and showed the front desk. My sink was clogged, so they moved me to another room, where the sink worked fine. Breakfast also needs work: the syrup was nasty, and it was orange juice with some kind of meat and boiled or scrambled eggs. They need to keep the doors closed and locked at night so drug addicts can’t get in.

Tom, the manager, made everything easy when I needed a little help. The staff’s care and attention made me feel at home, and my stay was fantastic. Highly recommend this place!

We had a great time, with nice beds and pillows, and the family enjoyed a swim in the indoor pool. The only issue was the shower. There was no barrier, and it drained slowly, so water ran into the area with the sink and toilet.
