Frontier Motel

The room was really clean, but we froze all night. The water was only lukewarm, and even with the heater turned all the way up, it blew warm air that couldn’t heat the room. The blankets were so thin, more like sheets. We stayed in mid-February 2025.

We got a good night's sleep, and the mattress was comfortable with sheets that looked clean. We came to Roswell without booking ahead and found that every room in town was taken except at Frontier. It’s a dive, but we only needed somewhere to sleep for the night and had no bad effects from staying there. For the price, it did the job.

The room had a lot of problems: cockroaches and other bugs, a slow bathtub drain that left me standing in soap scum, a sink that sprayed everywhere because it had no aerator, and a weak air conditioner in the desert. I provided photos. There are also stray cats around the hotel that urinate on the air conditioners, which makes the room smell like cat urine. I’d stayed in this same room earlier in the spring without these issues, so this was a real letdown. I reported some problems two days earlier and was told they’d be fixed “tomorrow.” Two days passed, no one came, and when I reminded them I got the same answer and was told there was no maintenance man. When I described the problems, the woman raised her voice and said I could check out if I didn’t like the room. I’d already paid for a week, and they don’t give refunds. The quality was garbage and the service absolutely horrendous.

My family and I were stuck in Roswell, and this was the only place with a room. We were charged $109, a huge markup, for the filthiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, even after some rough places. There were questionable stains on the walls, dirty blankets, exposed wires, and missing fixtures. I’d pay $25 to stay at Frontier, but it wasn’t worth anything more.
