I checked out of room 218 and realized before I started work that I’d left my headphones behind. I called the front desk, and the man who answered said he’d check. He got my number, then called back to say he’d found them and that I could come pick them up. Since I finished work close to midnight, I said I’d return the next day. I went back as soon as they opened. A woman at the desk said she couldn’t find them and that the cleaning staff didn’t know where they were either. It seems to me that someone took the headphones after the man found them. I know businesses often say they aren’t responsible for lost or valuable items. That would make more sense if I’d left them in the room and never called to ask whether they’d been found. But I reported them, and the staff told me they had them. After that, they were responsible for them. Now they suddenly can’t find them? I’m sure someone took them. Absolutely disgusting. This place won’t see me again.
