La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Round Rock East

The lobby looks beautiful, the location is good, and the staff were nice. The front desk employee was friendly and attentive, and the young man who helped us was apologetic and accommodating when we asked to switch rooms. Unfortunately, the second room had the exact same strong damp odor as the first. It hit us as soon as we walked in, and it was bad enough to make us think the rooms might have flooded. We were in town for one night near an appointment with our Naturopathic doctor. We usually stay elsewhere, but chose this hotel because it was closer. Exhausted from traveling, with heavy rain coming, we gave up on moving again and went to Walmart for moisture and odor absorbing tubs and a candle to cover the smell. They need to address this seriously.

The location was awesome, with a bar downstairs and a nail bar, Hat Creek, Jersey Mike’s, and a pizza place in the same parking lot. Walmart is five minutes away. We were in town for Sweet Eats Adventure Farm. The breakfast attendants kept everything stocked as people ate, and the breakfast service was great. Our room was clean and nice, the sheets had no stains, and the TV was in good condition.

We needed two rooms after checking out of Kalahari across the street, and the hotel made sure our rooms were on the same floor. It was clean and felt safe, and the staff were friendly. I liked being able to walk to Hat Creek for dinner and Summer Moon for coffee. I’d absolutely stay again.

The accommodations were great, but what really stood out was the staff. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels and none have matched the people here. I feel lucky to have found such a wonderful place to stay when I’m in town.
