Round Top Hotel

Tyrone, the owner, drove us and dropped us off, and everyone was kind. The hotel is also in a great spot near town. I had a wonderful weekend here with a few friends. The rooms were very clean, and the outdoor area was perfect for sitting and hanging out. Highly recommend this place.

I'm very disappointed in how this was handled. A group of friends and I booked online a couple of weeks ahead, then the hotel called to say the website hadn't been updated and there were no rooms available. A week later, they called to say there'd been a cancellation. We canceled our other booking, which was much nicer and cheaper, and switched to this hotel. We're traveling from Dallas, and bad weather was forecast for the weekend of our stay. With Texas under a winter storm warning and people being urged to stay off the roads, we asked about a refund or credit to return in spring or fall. The hotel wouldn't work with us at all. After we'd given them grace over their earlier mistake, we're now out a lot of money. Be completely sure nothing will come up if you book, because they won't accommodate guests. They will steal your $$!! Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

I paid for the hotel when I booked, then got a call saying they'd overbooked. Days later, they rang back to say a room had opened up. We wanted to stay downtown, so we gave them grace, canceled our other reservations, and booked here again. Then an ice storm came through the week we were due to arrive. We asked for a credit toward a fall stay or another date, but she said no. The service has been all over the place, and I gave them grace without getting any in return. I'm very disappointed with how Sherree handled it, and I won't give them my business again. I wish I'd stayed at the place we'd booked after she overbooked us, since they would have graciously refunded us. We gave her our business when we shouldn't have listened to us!

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I'd give zero stars if I could, and only gave one because that's the minimum for a review. My friend and I are two women traveling together, and from the moment we arrived we felt uneasy. The property was dark, dirty, run-down, and unwelcoming, smelled awful, and honestly looked like something from a horror film. We raised our concerns right away because we didn't feel safe or comfortable staying there, and asked if we could cancel. The owner Ty was shockingly rude and aggressive, abrupt and dismissive, and made the situation worse instead of offering help or understanding. The place is moldy and disgusting, and in my view the person running it clearly doesn't care about guests' safety or basic hospitality. Please don't stay here. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.
