The lobby has a Hi-Fi lounge with drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, plus some food, which gives the place a welcoming feel. We stayed in the Penthouse Executive King room, and it was spotless, well looked after, and really nice. The staff member who greeted us was friendly and professional. Having a QR code in the room for the full menu and room service made things easy. Hotel Royal Oak feels like a motel on steroids, in a charming way. We had a great stay and would come back next time we're nearby.

The outdoor area is such a cozy spot to relax, listen to music, and spend time with others. Summer live bands make it even better. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and the location makes it easy to get wherever I need to go. I often travel from North Carolina to Michigan for short work trips, and I stay at Hotel Royal Oak every time. I just got back to North Carolina and enjoyed another stay. Some upgraded rooms are really cute and full of character, so check out the room options. Staying here has become one of my favorite parts of these trips. A real gem, and one I'd recommend.

The staff are so welcoming, attentive, and friendly. I've stayed twice in two different rooms, and both had that same adorably hip, unique feel. The lounges and pool room are great places to hang out, and it's handy that you can order drinks wherever you are. Such a riot of a place, and a pleasure to stay at.

We loved the retro colors and fun vibe, and the beds were super comfortable. The room was clean and simple, with just the basics, which I appreciated. No mini-bar that charges you if you touch something, no built-in hair dryer, and no room phone. At first I was surprised that the doors opened straight outside instead of onto an indoor hallway, but it turned out to be really convenient. We parked right in front of our room, so unloading was easy. Room service cocktails were nice, and breakfast was simple. It was also great to grab coffee in the lobby instead of heading off-site. Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly. The location is perfect, just a short walk from Main Street in Royal Oak, and we didn't need extra parking all weekend. 10/10 for us. We'll be back, hopefully in the Penthouse room next time. Thanks, Hotel Royal Oak. See you soon!

We were in town for a concert at the Royal Oak Theater and wanted somewhere nearby to stay. The retro feel was a big hit with us, and the place exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious and quiet, even though the hotel seemed fully booked. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had hot water and good pressure. The staff I spoke with were really friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay again if we're back in the area.
