Days Inn Russell

I only stayed a couple of hours before getting a full refund. In that time I killed five roaches, and later, when I opened my suitcase at home, a live one fell out. I’m also very sensitive to bed bugs because of my high body temperature, and I saw a fully grown bug on the sheet and could feel them on me and still on my clothes. Check the mattress by the headboard for bugs and eggs, since that’s where they usually go in an infested room. Heat and alcohol kill bed bugs on contact, but not the eggs. Powder can drown them, too. The Lodge of Russell up the street was my next choice, and it was amazing. I highly recommend it. Shame on you, Days inn. I should report this to the city of Russell for health code violations!

The price was great, and they’re doing updates, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out. My room was clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows. The desk clerk was really nice and helpful, like he always is.

I felt safe traveling alone, and the rooms were clean. It was an easy place to stop on my drive, with Pizza Hut and Sonic right next door so I could walk over for food. They allow dogs for a very reasonable $10. The people running the place were lovely, and the stay was affordable and comfortable.

The people were friendly and helpful, and they had breakfast items plus really good coffee. For an overnight room, the price was pretty reasonable.
