Comfort Inn Ruther Glen near Kings Dominion

We were on our way from Florida to Rhode Island yesterday and stopped here, even though the reviews were mixed. The price worked for us, and seeing the old furniture and bedding outside was a good sign that the property is being renovated. Our room has been redone, with new carpet, a brand-new bed, and a chair I may have been the first to sit in. Breakfast is basic continental fare, but enough to get you back on the road. I told the front desk last night how good the place is starting to look, and if we pass this way again, we'll stay here. To those criticizing it, come look around now. Sincerely, thank you. The free breakfast was just right before we got back on the road. We stopped for a few hours of sleep while traveling from NY to SC, and had a great experience. The room was comfortable and clean.

We spent four days at the hotel and found it extremely excellent. Sam Lewis especially stood out. He's one of the hardest-working people we know, with polite manners and outstanding service in every way. People like him are hard to find, and the hotel needs more like him. He makes the environment worth being in. Keep up the excellent work! Five stars and above in every way. 💛

We stayed Oct 24-26, and our room on the 3rd floor, number 300, looked freshly painted with new mattresses and lots of space. The staff were nice, though not always available, and it was close to Kings Dominion. Some bathroom tiles were coming loose, there was mold in the shower, and Saturday morning's breakfast was cold. We spent the whole day and night at Kings Dominion, then found live roaches in the bathroom Saturday night. We told the front desk, and my husband went to Walmart for bug spray. My family won't stay here again. We're Choice Platinum members, and I could have used 30,000 points at a better hotel.
