Zai at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful, and made check-in easy. The room felt fresh, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The cleanliness also stood out throughout the hotel, from the lobby to the hallways. It's not often you find that kind of genuine hospitality. I'd recommend Days Inn to anyone after a pleasant, welcoming place to stay. 👏

The place gave me and my birds shelter for a couple of nights, but I planned to stay the whole weekend for Kings Dominion and ended up leaving four days early for a better-reviewed hotel. There was long black hair all over, stained sheets, and floors that seemed swept rather than mopped. After one night my feet and socks were black, so don't go barefoot. I understand daily housekeeping, but I'm protective of my birds and don't want staff in the room while I'm away. It seemed I'd have to put them in their travel bag and take them with me to prevent that. The AC leaked onto the floor, and a leaking showerhead led to us being moved to another room. After we asked for a refund, they put us in yet another room. The rooms smelled strongly of BO, so I tried to cover it with a pet-safe candle. At night, one of the owners kept sitting in front of our door. When we opened it, he got up and walked to the end of the building, where his room was. That was not okay.

The room door felt flimsy, like a hollow bedroom door, and wouldn't shut unless slammed. Our key card had to be replaced three times because it kept flashing red and failing. For four days we got no maid service unless we asked for towels, and then had to go to the front desk to get them. Our trash was never removed. Pressure washing left paint chips everywhere, which we tracked inside and kept having to wipe up, including from our dogs' paws. The toilet needed plunging every time, and we had to do it ourselves. There was no room phone to call the front desk. Pool maintenance was nonexistent, and nobody had mowed the grass. I could spend half the night listing the smaller problems. The rooms were inexpensive, but the motel looked completely neglected. From my experience, staying here isn't worth it or healthy.

It can be tough to find an affordable, clean room that allows dogs, so this was a gem while I was traveling with mine. The new flooring was easy to clean, and my pup settled right onto the cool, clean floor.
