Days Inn by Wyndham Rutland/Killington Area

I need basic hygiene, and this place didn’t meet that bar. I couldn’t leave because everything was booked up for a powder day, but I found the stay awful. The first room, which I checked into on Feb 19, 2026, had a bottle cap, bits of llastix, and hair on the floor. They moved me to a suite because months room was available. That room was somewhat better, though parts of the floor were still dirty. Its fireplace wouldn’t turn off because the walk switch didn’t work, so I looked up the manual and figured out how to shut off the gas. At 11am, while I was jet lagged, someone woke me by knocking and asking me to move back to a smaller room. The third room was dirty too, with a dirty floor, ants covering the bathroom floored, and mold in the shower. This place is filthy, with mold, dirty floors, ants, and rowdy guests. If they don’t clean the floors or mold, who knows what else they skip? I don’t need the ritz Carlton, but I do need cleanliness.

Across the street there’s a Taco Bell and a grocery store, and we found the room clean and very large. The beds were firm. There’s an indoor pool, though we didn’t use it. The breakfast was mediocre at best: one waffle maker with a line, some yogurt, a kind of danish, sausage links, and no orange juice. The photos advertise a game room, but apparently it was removed during the remodel. The front desk staff came across as a little standoffish, while the breakfast workers were polite.

The only upside was being so close to the mountains. On the first night there was no hot water, and even after running the shower for 30 minutes, it stayed freezing cold. When I went to check out, I couldn’t find anyone at the front desk. I rang the bell four times and called out to ask if anyone was in the office, but got no response. I asked the man preparing breakfast for help, and he just shrugged and walked off. I stood there for 20 to 30 minutes and still couldn’t get anyone at the desk. Worst customer service I’ve ever seen.

Don’t expect much beyond a convenient place to stay for a few nights. I was there for three nights, and housekeeping never came to change the sheets or bring fresh towels, even after I made a direct request. Terrible service.
