DoubleTree by Hilton Denver - Thornton

The staff were honestly the best part, but I wouldn't book here again, even for free. The lobby looks nice, yet at $135 a night there were too many basics missing. You have to go downstairs to the single microwave unless you book a "deluxe," which still looks standard to me. The fridge was smaller than a mini fridge, so my leftovers wouldn't fit. The thermostat barely kept the room warm, and it felt like important room necessities were missing for that price. They charge for breakfast too, which is wild.

I was seated right away, so that part was fine. After that, I waited 10 minutes and nobody came to take a drink order, food order, or even check in. Other diners had already been served and were eating. The waitress walked by other tables to refill drinks without looking my way so I could get her attention. That's the service a Diamond member gets? Makes me wonder how an average guest is treated. Worst breakfast service I've had at a Hilton restaurant.

The drive in was a bit tricky with our trailer, but there was plenty of parking once we got there. The hotel itself is beautiful, spotless, and close to I 25. We even got the Doubletree cookies at check-in. Highly recommend!

The staff at the desk and in housekeeping were kind, professional, and very accommodating. Nearly everyone I dealt with tried hard to help, even though the property had so many limitations. Still, this was the lowest-standard Hilton I've personally stayed in, and it didn't meet the brand expectations I have as someone who travels often. I hope management and Hilton leadership review its standards before recommending it to future guests. The room was stuffy and humid, with no bathroom exhaust fan, and the wall thermostat didn't work for most of my four-night stay. That made the first three nights miserable; it was only dealt with on my last night. The side entrance was out of order too, which was especially inconvenient for people with pets. The bar had very little alcohol, including no Michelob Ultra and hardly any wine, so I wondered how they could operate with such limited stock. I was also surprised they no longer offer complimentary tea, something I expect at Hilton properties.
