Sunrise Motel

The bed was the only comfortable part, and we were glad to leave. The room smelled like stale cigarettes, and the stained carpet added another strange, bad smell. It got into our clothes, and even washing them didn't get rid of it. The blinds on the door were broken, so people sitting right outside could look in while drinking beer, smoking, and talking until nearly midnight. The bathroom fan didn't work, and there was a hole in the bathroom door where someone had punched it. Not a welcoming room. I paid about $216 and was shocked by its condition. For $225 a night I could get a gorgeous, clean Airbnb house. This place needs a makeover: rip out the carpet and fix the blinds. I hate leaving a bad review because the people were nice, especially when I checked in late with my two kids at 8:30 on a Friday night a week ago, but something needs to improve.

After the two-hour drive home, I realized I'd left my wallet and car keys in the cottage. They were easy to communicate with and assured me everything would still be there when I came back. My cards, cash, keys, and everything else were all still in it. I'm so thankful they helped me get it back. I trust them and would stay again.

We had a great stay in a suite with a king bed. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. My son loved the clean pool. The furniture looks dated, but for the price and location, just about seven minutes from the beach, the room was definitely worth it.

We stayed in a fairly large cabin, and its big advantages, lots of space, almost a full kitchen, and a jacuzzi tub, may not be typical of the other rooms. It was mostly comfortable and pleasant, and unusually quiet for a place on a busy highway. I don't know whether the other cabins or rooms are as quiet. The room was pretty clean, though we saw exactly one ant and had to rinse the jacuzzi jets. It was in pretty good shape overall, with a few worn spots. It seems like they're renovating gradually. Our floor coverings looked nice, for example, while a high window had black plastic over it instead of something like a shade. The price was great for what we wanted: a clean, comfortable, quiet, affordable, convenient place. The service was pleasant, though I only saw anyone at check-in and during one call for the WiFi password, which they'd forgotten to give us. The kitchen equipment worked, but there were only a few dishes and pans, and not even a full-size coffee mug. The TV was an old tube set without an HDMI port. If you need everything modern and perfect, this probably isn't the motel for you. But if you can be flexible about details, it could be a good value. For us, Sunrise Motel worked well.
