I stayed the night before an early flight from SMF, and this will be my go-to place for future Sacramento departures. It was nice not to have to drive around looking for food. The restaurant had enough choices to make staying in worthwhile, and the bartender was friendly, even letting me sample one of their local beers on tap along with the pint I ordered. The staff were very, very friendly. My room was clean, a decent size, and had a comfortable shower and layout. The gym was well equipped for an evening workout, too.

The rooms were basic, with dingy carpets, and I could hear a lot of banging through the walls. My main reason for giving two stars is that there was no complimentary breakfast. I've stayed at plenty of Marriotts and never had one without some kind of free breakfast. They had bananas out, but most were black. They could at least put out oatmeal, fruit, and cereal. Typical California, the costs go up while the value keeps slipping. The airport shuttle was the only real perk.

The room was okay and seemed clean for the six hours I spent there. Still, I booked this Four Points for the airport shuttle timing and because, as a Titanium member, I like earning the points. I booked at 1:30 p.m. and asked for a high floor in the notes, but when I checked in around 1 a.m. I got a ground-floor room by all the noise. There were two shampoos and conditioner in the shower, but no body wash. Breakfast wasn't included, which is a first for me among the Four Points I've stayed at. I didn't bring a car, but parking is charged too.

The front desk people and shuttle drivers were all lovely. I'd stay here again for the exceptional customer service, especially with an early morning flight out of SMF.

The location is great and they have an airport shuttle, but I won't stay here again. The rooms were poor quality and noisy all night, and I woke up to bed bugs. The cleaning standards were appalling.
