The Surf Motel has decent rooms, fair prices, and a location close to everything. There's plenty happening nearby, and the area can get a little wild, but that's part of the charm. It's got its own vibe and seems more suited to the street-life crowd than families from the suburbs. If you know the scene, you'll feel right at home.
The rooms are low-key and clean, parking is easy, and the front desk is great.
My kids and I loved staying here before we left town. The interior is up to date, quiet, and really nice, with clean bedding and reasonable prices. These are the cleanest rooms I've seen in a long time. The family who owns the business is very nice, and I'd definitely come back if I needed a room on this side of town.
The family who runs this place are polite and courteous, and they work hard to keep the rooms and facility clean. There are ice and drink machines on site, and they're usually available, unlike at some other hotels I've stayed at. I've found extended stay places and other hotels to be filthy. This one is conveniently located right off Highway 80, between Fulton and Watt Avenue. Prices are competitive, and I stay here often.
The managers are amazing, down-to-earth, and truly kind. They even grow their own vegetables. The Surf motel is quite a gem, with clean, spacious, affordable rooms and easy access. If you're looking for a quality, clean, respectable place, I'd recommend it to anyone. Ten thumbs up from this Trapp Queen... room 129.
