Motel 6 Fort Worth, TX - North - Saginaw

The family running the place was nice, and the room was okay, but I found the mattress really uncomfortable. The fridge was tiny and tucked under a table on the floor, and there’s no microwave in the room, so you have to go to the first-floor vending area. There was lots of foot traffic from people who didn’t seem to be guests. For a no-smoking hotel, it smelled strongly of weed everywhere, and with the obvious drug use on site, I wouldn’t bring kids here.

I’m having an emotional breakdown trying to figure out where to go. I have nowhere else to stay until Wednesday, but they wouldn’t let me add one more night, even after I explained my situation. I’d already stayed three days and only asked to extend by a single day so I’d have time to move. They said cats stay in rooms and use litter boxes, making the whole room smell like cat and forcing them to replace everything. My two cats are harness-trained and only use their litter boxes when I’m working or asleep. I clean them daily. I told them at check-in that I had two cats, and they let me check in. Their website and specific policies don’t say cats aren’t allowed, and nobody told me until I asked to extend. They should have told me before I paid for the nights. I just don’t know what to do.

The place looked run down compared with the photos, and there were a few roaches in my room that I had to kill. It smelled strongly of cigarettes, animals, and musk. I’ve stayed at smoke-friendly, pet-friendly places that didn’t smell this bad, and my clothes stank after I left. There were stains on the towels and bedding, the toilet paper fell apart in my hand, and the toilet only flushed if I held the handle down and pressed it several times. In the morning, one of the owners, an older Indian woman, woke me by coming to my door despite my do not disturb sign. I still don’t know why she came. She grilled me, then walked away while I was trying to answer. Unfortunately, I couldn’t understand what she was saying.

Housekeeping were the kindest and most helpful people during my stay. The rest was a letdown. The man at reception was very rude and threatened to charge me just because my daughter helped bring my things upstairs after check-in. The floor felt like it was set aside for pets: nearly every nearby room had a dog, and the whole floor smelled of animals. My own room was dirty and had a bad odor that air freshener couldn’t cover.
