Rodeway Inn St. Charles

The rooms are clean, and the rest of the staff know me and are very nice. My stays have otherwise been pleasant, and I'd happily change this review if the owner would talk with me. I've asked to speak with the owner but haven't heard back. I can only report what's been happening with one employee. When she's working overnight, she goes back and forth to her car every 40 to 50 minutes, sometimes an hour, and sets off the horn when locking it in the middle of the night. At first I thought it was someone else and called her about it. She let me think that, even though she knew it was her. Then one evening I caught her doing it and said so. She threatened me, saying, “Watch it, I work here, and maybe you don't need to stay here anymore.” What a jerk. Otherwise, this would be a five-star stay for me.

The bed was comfortable, and for an inexpensive night it does the job. But the motel doesn't look well maintained, there was no coffee pot in the room, and no extra blankets. I won't be back.

The place is disgusting, dirty, and gross. There was hair all over the sink, a hole in the bathroom door, a loose toilet seat, and old towels left in the tub with no fresh ones in the room. The rooms are crap, and the road noise is awful. Outside, there was trash everywhere, and smoke from other rooms stunk up the place. I live in this area, and I won't be back. You've been warned.

This is an older motel, but the bed was nice and firm, and I got a good night's rest. There were holes in the wall and door that need maintenance. The room had a microwave and refrigerator. No complaints if all you need is a no-frills place to sleep.
