Courtyard Louisville - Airport

The room and service were good, and the free shuttle within a two-mile radius meant I could skip renting a car. Breakfast costs extra and isn’t cheap, so we took the shuttle to Kroger and grabbed something there.

The location worked well for my trip. The hotel is right by Kentucky Kingdom, with roller coasters visible from the parking lot, and it’s also close to Churchill Downs, where I needed to be. Breakfast isn’t included, but the bistro had a good range from morning food to lunch, dinner, and evening cocktails. My pictures show the evening menu. My room was spacious and nice, and generally clean, though there were occasional stains and signs of wear. It was at the end of the hall but adjoined the next room, and the walls were thin. I could hear the couple next door pretty clearly. I’m not sure whether the connecting door lacked soundproofing or the walls just had little insulation. Thankfully everyone was quiet enough that it didn’t bother me.

The fitness room is the reason I’m giving this place five stars. It’s the best I’ve seen in a hotel, with dumbbells up to 75 pounds, a cable machine, and Olympic free weights plus a bench and squat rack. Every hotel should have one like it. The hotel is near the airport, and the rooms and service are what I’d expect from Marriott.

The renovated fitness center really stood out: it’s spacious, modern, and has everything needed for a good workout. The hotel clearly put money into its amenities, and it shows. Service was another highlight. Every staff member I met was warm, professional, and attentive. For business or a quick stop, I’d recommend this Courtyard Louisville Airport for its location, staff, and upgrades.
