The room was like a compact one-bedroom apartment, with a sleeper sofa, one bathroom, and a small kitchen that had everything we needed. It was clean and cozy, and restaurants nearby made the overnight stay easy. We were in Salem for a concert, so being close to the venue was why I booked it. It doesn't have a front desk or some of the usual hotel amenities, but I'd stay here again.

We had a great escape from the city here, close to Roanoke and with everything walkable. The coffee shop was only a couple of minutes away and had delicious food, and Stave & Cork wine bar recommended the hotel. The pictures don't really capture how nice it is. It felt more like an air-b-n-b, with a fully equipped kitchen, and the place is very tech savvy. There are bikes on the first floor, too. Our bed was so comfortable, and the high vaulted ceilings on the second floor are amazing. If I pass through Salem, VA again, this will be a must stay.

The whole building was peaceful and quiet, and everything was very clean. Our room was so nice that we wished we could have stayed longer. Such a gem for a night, and we'll make it our go-to on future trips to the Salem area.

This was our second stay at The Lofts at Downtown Salem, and we love coming here. The rooms are roomy and clean, and they work well if you're bringing furry friends. The staff is welcoming and helpful. When we come to town to visit family, this will always be our pick.

Being able to walk all over downtown Salem was great, and the room was clean, nicely put together, and a good size. Everyone who worked there was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay, quick to answer questions or take care of anything I needed. The lofts checked every box for me. I loved my time there and will definitely come back.
