There were bugs and rats in the hotel. The manager told me I could use the address there and pick up my mail after moving out if I didn’t have another mailing address. That turned out not to be true. They sent it back, and when I confronted him, he lied and blamed his wife and kids. The manager or owner also didn’t seem able to handle loud tenants. One situation involved people who tried to hurt a newborn baby, had the baby’s dad there, and caused a scene, yet they were allowed to stay. I chose my family’s safety and left rather than stay in a dangerous situation.

There were bedbugs and roaches in the room I tried to sleep in, and there were gaps under the door. The front desk isn’t staffed around the clock, and the hotel is right beside the train tracks. They refused to refund me because I’d left a one star review.

After five weeks in Salina for work, I’m checking out with a great impression. The manager and his family were extremely friendly and professional, and they do what they can to make guests happy. My remodeled room looked great, and I had no issues at all. Some of the negative reviews make me wonder if they came from other local motels or a disgruntled employee. I’d absolutely recommend The Hastings Inn. Thanks again for a great stay!

We stayed during the latter part of July 2024, while my brother was passing away at the nearby hospital. His children and I needed somewhere to stay, and I’m grateful we found the Hasting Inn. It was so nice to spend that week there during a hard time. Thank you very much. The room was very clean, and the management couldn’t have been better. The new owners are great people, and they’re doing a fantastic job bringing the motel back to what I imagine it was like when it was new. I admire them for working so hard to make it a pleasant, functional place. I’m sure it hasn’t been easy, and I have a lot of admiration for the owners and employees.
