Courtyard Salt Lake City Airport

I was upgraded to a larger room and liked the hotel, but there were a few long strands of hair in the toilet when I arrived. They wouldn't flush, so it seemed the toilet hadn't been brushed during cleaning. Gross. I did get some added points to my Bonvoy account.

The rooms were above average for Courtyard standards. HVAC was a little annoying, and the restaurant area was friendly but understaffed. The shuttle service, though, was atrocious. I called to ask about the schedule and was told to call. Another time, the driver drove off while I was walking toward him to return to the airport because the morning service runs on a schedule. A third driver asked if I worked for an airline. When I said no, he said he didn't work for the hotel, even though he was in a Marriott courtyard can, then parked and got out to smoke. I had to call an Uber.

Check-in was easy, and the desk attendant was especially nice. The hotel is conveniently close to the airport, with a shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. Be sure to tell the front desk and reserve a spot.

Mahmoud at the front desk was extremely rude, interrupted me when I spoke, and was difficult to understand. At check-in he said he had to run my credit card twice, but when I asked why, he kept saying he'd tell me and never explained. When I asked about the airport shuttle, he said all the buses were full for the day. The shuttle was the only reason I chose this poorly run hotel. The property could be good, but the front desk help was absolutely worthless. The staff are a disgrace to the Marriott name. I'm a Titanium elite member at Marriott, but next time I'll stay at the Hilton.
