Hilton Garden Inn Salt Lake City Downtown

The hotel is easy to enjoy, with a bright, welcoming lobby and friendly, professional staff who are ready to help. Its downtown location puts many attractions within walking distance, and parking was easy. The on-site restaurant has tasty breakfast and dinner options. Our room was spacious and modern, with a cozy bed, a large bathroom, and useful amenities like a microwave and fridge. It was clean and comfortable, and felt like good value for either business or leisure.

The stay was going well until the last couple of hours. My key suddenly stopped working and had to be replaced. Then room service knocked and walked straight into my room before I had a chance to answer the door. I don’t know how they got in so quickly. Breakfast is served, but it isn’t included in the room price of over $200. I’ve had better stays and worse ones.

The staff put in more effort than at other HGIs, and even most hotels in this class, to make guests feel welcome. The front desk team pays close attention to people moving through the lobby. I also noticed a sign about new gym flooring being installed soon. The current floor looked fine to me, but I appreciate that they’re keeping the place up. And the elevators are FAST. I’ve stayed at plenty of Hamptons and HGIs with slow ones, but not here. The room was huge and clean. The shower gets very hot, which is nice if you like hot baths. The thermostat goes down to 45F, the lowest I’ve seen. Hotel thermostats are usually locked in the upper 60s, which is too warm for me. At breakfast there were vegetables along with the usual things, and the buffet eggs were a tier better than at the Hamptons. Embassy or a more upscale Hilton may have a better buffet, but will you find vegetables? I travel around the US for work every week, spend 95% of my hotel stays at Hilton brands, and don’t live in this area. I was thinking of choosing a Hilton near the airport to save a few bucks, but I’m glad I picked this one. It’s one of the best Hilton Garden Inns I’ve stayed at.

Ladvi was the evening hostess, and she made the stay such a delight that we decided to stay in and have drinks at the hotel. She should be thanked!
