Guest reviews

The staff were great, but I felt bad for them because this place was scary. We didn’t feel safe enough to spend even one night. There were tents outside, homeless individuals across the parking lot, and people in the lobby who clearly weren’t guests. The property looked nothing like its photos, and the old, rundown, dirty building and room felt unsafe and poorly maintained. The layout, condition, and constant foot traffic made me think surveillance cameras were needed. We left as soon as we saw the room and surrounding area, then booked elsewhere, costing us extra time and money. I later realized the hotel allows homeless voucher stays, which explains the conditions, and wish I’d read the reviews more carefully. Do not trust the positive reviews, they’re either outdated or dishonest. This shouldn’t be marketed as a safe or standard hotel stay. Don’t stay here.
As a longtime Bonvoy member and business traveler, I’d put this among my three worst hotel experiences. By day 3, the water heater had worked only once. The front desk said it was fixed, but it wasn’t, and I watched maintenance restart the old-style tank heater. They wouldn’t move me. Two weeks later, after 17 days here, I’d had no hot water eight times. They send someone to restart it and say “sorry.” Plumbers have been on site for a week, still no help. I asked them to leave the closet unlocked so I could restart it myself, but they refused. Breakfast, which is supposed to start at 6:30, is unreliable too. Sometimes there are no eggs until 6:45. Marriott should cut ties with this owner. Bulldoze it and start over.
I appreciated being allowed to check out as late as 1 PM, though housekeeping seemed to have a different schedule. They knocked three times before noon while I was on work calls. Repeated interruptions are a funny way to be reminded that apparently I shouldn’t still be there during late checkout. The elevator was out for my entire stay, so carrying luggage up and down the stairs turned into a free, unadvertised workout.
Amy has also been very helpful and pleasant, and our interactions since have been kind and accommodating. Chelsea was friendly and did her best to help when I called the night before. The next morning, I called to check on an ADA accommodation request, and Jim was rude right away, before I could even explain. I tried to be friendly and quick, but he sounded annoyed that I called and spoke in a condescending way I didn’t appreciate. He said ADA accommodations were never guaranteed, and I’d have to wait until arrival to find out if my friend could properly access the room. It was really disappointing after the first call went so well.
The water heater went out during my stay, and breakfast was served 30 minutes later than usual. Maintenance also came into my room while I was trying to sleep after a hard work week. The worst hotel experience of my life.
