Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Airport

The room was nice and neat, especially the Jacuzzi tub, and I still loved the hotel. It may become my go-to, and I'll return. The staff are friendly, but could use some fine tuning. Concierge staff should recognize Gold and Diamond members without needing to be prompted and have perks ready to hand out. Guests should also be told when ice machines or other services are unavailable, and when breakfast starts and ends. The hydration station should be refreshed at least three times a day. A lunch and dinner menu, along with a bar area, would be a big plus.

The hotel felt run down and in need of updates. The customer service needs even more repair. When we checked in, neither of the two people at the desk greeted us. The young man asked for my ID and credit card, but the process dragged on because he kept answering what seemed to be calls from hotel staff while the woman beside him looked at her computer. He told us the elevators would be out for another hour, so we carried our suitcases up three flights while hotel staff kept squeezing past us on the stairs as if we were in their way. Four hours later, after dinner, the elevators still weren't working, and staff said they wouldn't be fixed until the next day. In the morning, one elevator was working, but we had to share it with hotel staff carts. My wife and I stayed one night on 3/5/2026.

We were unhappy with the room and asked to cancel, and I'm glad the hotel handled the cancellation quickly. We booked another Hilton and got the service, room, and amenities we wanted there. This hotel needs a major remodel and update. On arrival, we were told the bar wasn't open because of a licensing issue. Check-in was delayed, and staff didn't seem to agree on which rooms had been cleared for guests. The first room was the wrong one. The second had broken outlets, poor ceiling repairs over the tub, and a Whirlpool tub covered in brown spots. It wasn't what we wanted at all.

The lobby is impressive, and the colonial-era inspired interior gives the place a distinctive, upscale feel. After a long drive on I-10, the in-room jacuzzi was just right for relaxing. The staff were very welcoming, and there was complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby. Don't miss the caramel brownies, they were delicious and refreshing. A comfortable, friendly place near the airport.
