Residence Inn By Marriott San Antonio Airport/Alamo Heights

On my second stay here, I found that the employees are friendly and go out of their way to help. Valerie at the front desk was especially accommodating when I made requests. The amenities and location are great too, and I prefer staying here to downtown San Antonio. Downtown's only a short drive away, so we can visit without the bustle and, let's be honest, the odd smells. And the breakfast is peak. I wasn't expecting eggs, sausage biscuits, and bacon, but they had all of it. This place is a gem, so don't sleep on it, sleep in it!

The parking gate wasn't working properly during my stay, and when I tried to enter one day, there was a backup. It looked like the hotel shuttle was trying to come in too. The gate came down on my vehicle and scratched it. I filed a report, but a month has gone by and no one has contacted me. I'm a titanium member with bonvoy, so I hoped that might help, but apparently not. I stay here often for work, but the hotel doesn't seem to care what happens on the property and the rooms need work. I'm moving over to the town place because the service is much better. If you're looking in the area, I'd go there.

Mrs. Maria was so friendly and knew guests by name. The breakfast area impressed me, especially since they had metal forks, knives, and spoons, which most hotels in this price range don't offer. The hotel is excellent overall. The rooms are nice, but you can see their age, and they need to start paying attention to that.

My wife and I spent two and a half months at this Residence Inn while extensive water damage to our house was being repaired. We'll miss it. The suite was comfortable, and bringing our two dogs worked out really well. What made the long stay especially good was the top-notch service. We got to know quite a few people on staff. Arleth and Cesar at the front desk were terrific, printing documents for us now and then and helping with all kinds of things. Jimmy and Gabriel in maintenance kept everything shipshape. Isabel and the other housekeepers did a great job keeping our room clean and well supplied. Breakfast was good, and we especially liked the coffee. Maria, Lori, and Maribel were there every morning, greeting residents and making sure everyone was happy with breakfast. Maria even introduced us to another couple staying there for the same reason as us. We've stayed in five-star hotels on three continents and enjoyed them, but for a long stay we appreciated somewhere casual and comfortable with such attentive staff.
