Spark by Hilton San Antonio Airport

The rooms were clean and tidy, and the location was decent. The hotel itself looks dated, and a few hallways are lowkey scary. My main gripe was paying by credit card. I asked to split the charge, but staff didn’t seem to know how or even try, and went straight to charging the full amount despite my clear instructions. They were nice and the service was nice, but that simple request left me frustrated.

It’s calm and convenient, around 12 minutes from downtown, so you can avoid the pricey downtown hotels. Parking was about $4 a night, with plenty of food options nearby. I had a great stay at Spark by Hilton San Antonio Airport. The hotel is well maintained, and my room was very clean, with essential bathroom amenities and a mini fridge. Breakfast was simple but decent: bagels, muffins, cereal with oat and 2% milk, orange juice, green apples, and coffee. I’d recommend it for a San Antonio visit.

The location was good, away from the main highway with little traffic, and the price was great for what you get. Rooms were clean, the staff helpful, and the room was comfortable. I would’ve given five stars if the heater worked the first time. The elevator doors opened and closed super slowly with a creak like in a scary movie. My floor smelled like mold, though my room smelled normal. The heater didn’t work in my first room, and I had to move three times before we found one that did. I only discovered the problem after I’d gotten ready for bed, so I packed everything back up after laying it out for the next day. A little frustrating, but the third time was the charm, LOL. If you can, take the stairs, and check the heat, AC, and hot water as soon as you get into your room.

The room was dirty, with lots of dust under the bed and in the corners, and a dirty smell throughout. The old air conditioning unit was too loud, and I couldn’t sleep because of it and the poor pillows. The elevator urgently needs maintenance. Since this is part of Hilton hotels, it’s disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend the place.
