Super 8 by Wyndham San Antonio Near Fort Sam Houston

I woke up to find roaches, one on the bed and another on the floor. The stained sheets and big mark on the couch were already disgusting, but I tried to ignore them after a long day. I went to the office to ask about a refund, and the worker said the most he could have offered was a 10-20% discount because it was prepaid. He didn’t refund anything. I’ve never had trouble with Super 8 before, but I’ll never return to one. Terrible hotel and customer service. I absolutely don’t recommend it.

We got our money back, then left about 40 minutes after checking in. I spent maybe 10 minutes in the rooms, disgusted. The first one had a dirty bathtub with mold and cut phone lines, so we asked for another. In the next room, one bed’s comforter had a stain. I removed it, only to find the sheet underneath was stained too. When I told the manager about the rooms, he didn’t want to refund the stay and said something like, if you used the room, then you stayed.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and I couldn’t hear the neighbors from my clean room. There isn’t really breakfast, but you’re surrounded by places to eat. I plan to book here again for my next stay.

I had to ask the front desk for a coffee pot and hair dryer because both had been taken out of my room. There were mattresses stacked outside my door, which made me imagine bedbugs. The room smelled like organic growth, probably mold. There was water damage on the baseboards and bathroom ceiling, and the smoke detector had been removed.
