Home2 Suites by Hilton San Bernardino

The reviews I read beforehand were accurate, not exaggerated. We paid Hilton prices for a filthy room. The floors hadn't been swept or mopped, the counters were disgusting with semen everywhere, and the fridge was moldy. We had to clean the counters ourselves. The toilet was clean, but the shower was nasty and the counters hadn't been cleaned or sanitized. I checked under the sheets for bed bugs and found none. The sheets smelled clean and seemed to be the one thing housekeeping had changed. The kids were disappointed that the pool was closed. Breakfast was good, typical hotel food. The location was handy, next to CHP, with Costco, Sams club, SIZZLERS down the street and other restaurants nearby.

The rooms are nice, but the water pressure is poor and parking costs $20. The breakfast was maybe the worst I've ever gotten up for. If you eat healthy, your only choice is uncracked boiled eggs. You can hear every step from the room above, too. I honestly don't get why people don't book an Airbnb instead. It's cheaper, has more space, and doesn't charge for parking. You miss out on 'breakfast,' but the savings on the room and parking are more than enough for a very nice meal.

From June through September, my dog Ronan and I stayed at Home2Suites while I attended Heavy Equipment College. We felt welcome every day, and all the staff were amazing. Hugo & Daisy at the front desk were always ready to greet Ronan with a treat and some attention. The breakfast lady is wonderful too, starting the day with a good morning and a lovely smile. She was pleasant every morning, and breakfast was always plentiful at 6 a.m. sharp. The overnight lady is funny and full of character, and room service was top shelf. Every employee deserves a $1,000 bonus for the month. That's a request for hotel management and the owner, because good employees like these come from good management. My experience was better than the Grand Hyatt in La Jolla and any Marriott. Thanks to everyone for making my time away from home pleasant, productive and stress-free. I'll be glad to head home next week, but Ronan and I will miss connecting with the hotel staff. Thank you.

The location was perfect, with plenty of good restaurants close by. Our room was clean, the staff were lovely, and we had a great stay. I'll definitely use this hotel again when I'm back in the area.
