The rooms were clean and fine, but check-in left me annoyed. I travel often for work and I’m a Hilton Diamond member, and I’ve always been offered bottled water along with the bonus points. I watched the guest ahead of me get asked if he wanted water, while I got no offer of water or points. No one explained the parking rules or cost. I only learned after reaching my room that parking was $20 a night and the permit had to be displayed on the dash. The desk clerk had asked whether I was parking and about my car, then handed over the key envelope. I had to go back out in the rain to sort out the permit. I should have stayed at the Hampton next door.

Those fresh cookies at the front desk were a nice touch, and the staff were polite and professional. I spoke with GM Augustin while he was sorting out a billing adjustment; once it was fixed, he asked about our stay and what could be changed or improved. We’d stay here again, especially if the worn room cushions and furniture are replaced. The remodel was scheduled to start in November 2025, so it may be worth asking what’s happening with that. We spent 10 days here and used the kitchenette, outdoor barbecue, and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi jets need repair: the water wasn’t filtered or softened, so they wouldn’t move as intended and water spilled over the sides. The in-room dishwashers had the same mineral buildup. The place was clean, though the furniture and some furnishings are due for an update. Breakfast was decent, with muffins, toast, fresh-cut fruit on most days, oatmeal, a waffle maker, several cereals, and juice. Hot options included scrambled eggs made from liquid eggs, small omelets, sausage patties, a delicious maple sausage, cut potatoes or potato cakes, and biscuits and gravy one day, which didn’t seem very popular. There was coffee, usually bananas and apples, yogurt to go, and a cold water dispenser with lemon slices. I didn’t try the water because I’m picky about drinking filtered water.

I left within 20 minutes of checking in, even though I was supposed to stay through the new year. The first room had the bed bug shown in my photo. They moved me, but the new mattress had what looked like bed bug droppings around its edges, so I told the front desk and refused to stay. Now the hotel management and the third-party booking company can’t agree, and both are refusing a refund.

The room still wasn’t ready when I arrived at 3:35. I’ve had nicer rooms at a Motel 6 Studio for a lot less, and the sofa looked like something from a secondhand shop. Breakfast wasn’t great either. They call it a buffet, but it felt more like a continental breakfast with an egg omelet. The one upside? Done.
