We ended up here after my son got sick and our last-minute plan to stay with family fell through. The staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast and parking were included. We did hear some street noise, but we had a really good stay and thought the place was an exceptional value.

The train line is right beside the hotel, with passenger and freight trains running throughout the day. It didn’t bother me, though anyone who needs total quiet might want to request a room on the opposite side. The layout was unusual, with all the rooms built around the lounge and breakfast area. My room was clean, fairly spacious for one person, and had what I needed. Breakfast was simple with enough options.

I found hair on the shower and floor, beard hair in the sink, and a contact lens in the bedding. I ended up packing my things in my pajamas and moving to another hotel. Such a waste of time and money. Don’t stay here!

The location worked really well for us, right in the middle of San Carlos, with restaurants nearby, Caltrain a 10-minute walk away, and the airport about a 15-minute drive. Nursel is one I’d recommend. For a no-frills three-star hotel, it was clean and comfortable, with a good bed and a clean, modern bathroom. Staff handled our requests efficiently, though I wouldn’t call them especially friendly. Breakfast was the same basic, inexpensive hotel food each day, but about what I expected at this price. Good value for the Bay Area.
