Pacific Shores I 2 Bedrooms 1 Bathroom Condo

After our first night, I asked if they could improve the air conditioning. Maintenance replaced the unit, and it worked much better. The room was very spacious, which was nice with a pet, and it was fairly clean and smelled nice when we arrived. The area is quite walkable, and there's a desk and chair. The mattresses were okay, firm and without a pillow top. The room was warm when we arrived, and we spent the evening trying to cool it enough to sleep. The original AC was a tiny window unit that couldn't really cool the room and seemed undersized. The window opens but has no screen, which isn't good with a pet. Since the hotel is by a busy road, outside air wasn't something we'd want to rely on all night. The shower is spacious, but the head needs replacing because the water didn't come out well. It seems like a small fix that could make a big difference. There's a fridge and microwave, though the TV is quite small for how far away you sit. This hotel will meet your needs, but there's definitely room to improve. It's not one of the worst I've stayed at, but whether you'll be satisfied depends on what's important to you.

I could see the water from bed each morning in my partial ocean view room, and the staff were kind and welcoming. The hotel's sister property, PB Surf Inn, refilled my water bottle each day, which was convenient. I also appreciated the slightly later checkout, it made my last morning more special and left time for more fun. The location is very walkable. I could swim in the ocean and get back to shower quickly, with good restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I'd recommend Kono’s and Better Buzz. Yoga classes are held at Palisades park a quick walk away, at 9am Tues/Thurs, with more times via PBsunsetyoga on Instagram. Ray’s Rentals gives hotel guests a discount on beach cruiser rentals. The rooms were nice and clean, and the location made getting to the beach easy. The pool was a really good temperature. Parking got a little crowded when we arrived late in the evening, but we always managed to find a space. The only downside was seeing a lot of people living out of cars and vans right outside the window on the public street. That's not the hotel's fault.

Being able to walk to restaurants and the beach was a big plus, and the price was hard to beat. The rooms were clean and reasonably well kept, though the bed and pillows weren't especially comfortable. We had to ask for a “do not disturb” tag, and the toilet clogged on our last day. The front desk sent someone right away, but while we waited my son needed a bathroom and there wasn't a public one by the pool, reception, or laundry room. The clerk said she was waiting for someone to fix the front desk toilet too, which sounded questionable. For the cost, it's decent. I'd maybe stay again if I wanted an affordable spot near the beach.
