WorldMark San Diego - Mission Valley

We were pleasantly surprised by our third-floor unit facing the green hill next door, since we’d booked a 2 bedroom Less Desirable Location and weren’t sure what to expect. The first-floor units facing the back may be less desirable, with shallow back patios and high walls. The resort seems recently updated, with new carpets and furnishings. We’ve stayed at lots of WorldMark resorts and like the large suites and range of places to stay. Parking is now a paid service, though they offer free parking if you attend a sales presentation. The salespeople here were pushier than at other locations we’ve visited. If you go to the presentation, set a timer on your phone and leave when your time is up.

The gym was unacceptable, with visible leakage and dumbbells that only went up to 25 lbs. It’s the worst hotel gym I’ve seen. I’d recommend nearby hotels such as Homewood Suites across the street, which at least has free breakfast, unlike this excuse of a hotel, or another Hilton property. This is the worst WorldMark property I’ve stayed at. The front desk staff weren’t very welcoming, especially the eyebrow technician and the Black woman working around 8:30 AM on December 27. They were dismissive and made a big contribution to my bad experience. I pay thousands of dollars each year for this level of treatment, which is ridiculous. I’ve been strongly telling family and friends not to buy these overpriced timeshares. These timeshare hotels are really disappointing, and the quality of the employees reflects that.

The prices were great, and the staff were the best. We accidentally marked a door during our stay at Worldmark and felt awful about it, so we told management right away. They were kind and appreciated us being honest. We were nervous about losing our deposit, but they were understanding about a dumb mistake and said it was perfectly fine. We’ll definitely stay here again. Thanks to all the staff!

They’re next to a freeway and charge $10 a day for WiFi, or you can go without it. Of course, the hotel service is horrendous without WiFi. Parking is another $25, unless you get lucky finding street parking. Go to a legitimate hotel with decent basics like free WiFi and parking. Here they try to distract you with free wine and snacks in the common area. Don’t eat the snacks, they recycle them from previous gatherings.
