We spent about two and a half weeks at the Rodeway Inn Civic Center and paid $1,199.66. Our room wasn’t cleaned even once the whole time. The only service we got was a single towel exchange, which was disappointing. The housekeeper asked us to leave dirty towels by the door, so I tipped her $10 and did that. Later the front desk reprimanded me for it, which was confusing and uncomfortable. They also said they’d call when another room opened up, but I never heard back. I was disappointed by the poor communication and basic housekeeping. I hope management can make service more consistent between staff and ensure rooms are properly looked after.

The staff were fairly nice, but that was about the only bright spot. I needed Wi-Fi for schoolwork, and although the hotel advertises working internet, it barely worked during my stay. My room door also had huge gaps and there was a lot of noise. Then, after a full day at school, I got locked out from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. because the lock had died. I’m disappointed that I wasn’t refunded some of the cost.

The location worked well for us, and the staff were nice, but our room was an absolute rundown piece of junk. We stayed four nights looking for an affordable hotel in a central spot. The room was clean, but the furniture and linens were so old, dirty, and worn that it was uncomfortable. We saw that some other rooms had been renovated, so I guess we drew the worst one. It was the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in for the quality of the furniture and bedding.

The staff were great, and we had clean sheets and towels, a comfortable bed, and lots of TV channels for movies. Our room also had a fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and other necessities. My lady and I stayed about a week, and we’d come back if we wanted an affordable place in the city with parking. We’d read the reviews, but the place wasn’t what we expected. Our room had recently been renovated, and there were no bugs. Some parts had clearly been used, but neither of us had much to complain about. It’s near the Tenderloin and it gets noisy, but it’s a city. We never had trouble with homeless people or felt unsafe, and seeing families around meant we didn’t feel alone. Parking is first come, first served. Bringing the car back before 6 p.m. seemed to give us a good chance of getting a spot, since most people were still out. A few nights, spaces were open all night. Thanks for the hospitality.

The room was filthy, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the pillows were painfully flat, and noise from other rooms came right through the walls. The elevator was broken, and our tiny car barely fit in the parking space. When the shower nozzle literally flew off and hit me, that was the icing on the cake. I never post reviews, but this was the worst hotel experience I’ve had, and I want to warn people. I wasn’t expecting anything high-end, but the noise, dirt, rude office staff, and deceptive practices made it feel like less than a one-star stay. I booked two beds and got a single room. They wouldn’t refund the price difference, and they told Expedia they’d moved us to the right room to avoid the refund. Parking was listed among the amenities, but when I called, the manager snickered and said it was “limited.” It turned out there were 13 spaces for almost 50 rooms. When I asked about nearby parking, I was told to “figure it out.”
