The rooms were actually quite nice: the beds seemed new, the sheets were comfy, the shower felt amazing and soft compared with the hard water I’m used to in Texas, and the location was great. We could walk to the convention and to food, and it was very quiet. Still, the owner made what could have been a good stay God awful. We checked in and then learned our friends needed a place to stay for the convention. The owner, I assume, was kind and understanding when we asked to switch to a two-bed room for them. When they arrived, they helped us carry our things up to the third floor. I have pots, so carrying heavy stuff and using stairs is especially hard for me. Right away the owner came to our door, walked into the room, demanded everyone’s ID, and accused us of lying about how many people were staying. We’d barely gotten some of our things, including merchandise to sell at the convention, into the room and were still talking about how to unload the rest. I had to argue with him, then go move our truck to a nearby parking garage and haul everything from there to the hotel, while two people carried things upstairs and I waited outside. Afterward, he sat and stared at us while “walking” his dog. Later I needed to grab something from the room, and two friends walked with me so I wouldn’t have to walk back to the convention alone. One friend was staying at the main convention hotel, the other with me. The owner stopped us before the stairs, called me a liar again, and said he had a strict no-guest policy. I explained I only needed to collect something and we weren’t going to stay longer than that. He followed us up the stairs and made a fuss, saying I was lying and that we had to pay to have anyone over for any amount of time. Guests and visitors aren’t the same thing. I live out of state, and my friends and I just wanted an easy convention trip. Instead, it felt uncomfortable going to the room because he kept watching us. He lives on the first floor, and we noticed TVs showing cameras around the whole hotel. We caught him watching our room several times. He even put his head in when we got extra towels and my friend was fast asleep. I stood in his way and asked if he needed anything, since she was sleeping and didn’t want to be disturbed. Once he realized we weren’t really there except to sleep and shower, he left us alone. If you’re a woman worried about traveling alone, at least you know this hotel keeps eyes on you.

For the price, this was a great place to stay, and I’d come back when I’m in San Jose again. The host was super friendly, funny, and made us feel welcome. The area felt safe, and I didn’t have any worries. The hot water, heater/AC, and WiFi all worked, and the place was pretty clean too. Free parking right on the property was a big plus, since lots of other hotels charge $45 or more a night for parking, which I find RIDICULOUS. I didn’t regret giving this place a try. THANK YOU!

The outside is rough-looking, but inside this budget hotel is nice, with an atrium and open spaces. I had a clean junior suite with a microwave and small refrigerator, and the bathroom was clean too. The service was great. I left my wallet at the front desk, and the person working there, who was also handling lots of other jobs, contacted me right away and got it back to me. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.

It’s an easy walk from Convention Center Inn & Suites to the San Jose Convention Center, SAP Center, and plenty of downtown restaurants. Even so, the area around the hotel was surprisingly quiet and safe, which made it easy to unwind after a long day. The staff were welcoming and quick to help, including with local suggestions. The room was modern, well kept, and very clean. The owners seem to care about the property. I had a comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, strong Wi-Fi, and a large smart TV. For a clean, budget-friendly place near the convention center, it offered more than I expected. It’s a reliable no-frills option for an event, work trip, or stop in San Jose, and I’d definitely return.

The bed was a bit hard for me, and I got a bedbug bite overnight. The air conditioner/heater was noisy even on low fan speed. There’s plenty of parking, as this used to be a motel, and the bathroom was good. The room itself was fairly nice, with a recent-looking renovation, a small sitting area with a TV, and a bigger sleeping area with a larger TV. The surrounding area is getting pretty dodgy. The motel next door is being used for homeless/half-way housing. This part of San Jose has generally felt quite empty since covid, except when the Convention Center has an event.
