La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham San Jose Silicon

The shower floor was really slippery, and the TV didn’t seem to have a way to add streaming. We also had to pay a $30 fee for early check-in, something we’ve only encountered in Vegas. Still, we were comfortable during our four nights and the breakfast was decent. At first I wasn’t sure about our room, which was tucked at the back on the ground floor, but it turned out well. The hallway lights were motion activated, so the area stayed dark at night when nobody passed our door. It seemed to be a wheelchair-accessible room, with a key card slot by the door to turn on the lights and motion sensors in the bathroom.

The room’s strong disinfectant odor was a bit overwhelming, and sound carried easily from the floor above. I could hear footsteps and the bed creaking when the guests moved around. The front desk service and breakfast were excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I hope they can improve the room conditions and sound insulation.

Beto, the valet, is honest and respectful, always smiling and greeting people. I especially liked the valet service and the underground garage, where your car, tools, and personal belongings are safe. It’s a great place to stay in downtown San Jose.

Parking is valet only and costs $25. Street parking is so-so, and you risk being towed. Still, it’s a really nice little hotel. I travel a lot, and I’ve slept at La Quinta instead of at La Quinta. This place was better than some Marriott and Hilton hotels I’ve stayed in. The whole property, rooms included, was very clean.
