Travelers Rest Motel

A program placed me here, and I wouldn't choose to pay for a stay myself. The receptionist was rude and disrespectful, and didn't want to let me stay even though my dogs are service animals. She put us out on the first night, and my dogs and I wandered the streets in the freezing cold. The next day I sneaked them back in; she got upset, threatened to kick me out again, and said she'd call the police. I told her I'd contact a lawyer and the news station. They enter your room every day whether you're there or not, and don't leave toiletries, so you have to go ask at the office. That woman needs another job if she isn't people friendly, or perhaps she discriminates against someone who likes the same sex.

I told them on arrival that I had booked through Expedia, but they said they didn't take reservations. They clearly rushed to find us a room. The bathroom has no window, just an open hole. The bed feels like sleeping on springs, and there aren't any outlets to charge things.

My family spent six hours traveling to this hotel and was turned away because of an issue between the hotel and Expedia. I'd reserved through Expedia more than a month ahead and had called earlier to ask about cancellation. The receptionist explained that a direct hotel booking would be refundable if canceled, while Expedia bookings were non-refundable, but never said the hotel wouldn't accept Expedia reservations. When I asked why the hotel was listed on Expedia if it didn't take their bookings, she said she didn't know. I had to contact Expedia, and the whole trip was ruined for my family. Never coming back.

The room had a fridge and microwave, no smell, and carpet that looked clean, but there were only a couple of plugs. It was $100 including tax on a Saturday night, paid in cash with a $20 deposit. They keep the TV remotes at the front desk. The shower's tile walls were bowing out and breaking.
